Join us for a pre-Oscar Watch party to celebrate one of our own: TRIO Alum Viola Davis. As you know, Ms. Davis has been nominated for best actress, and her co-star, the late Chadwick Boseman, has been nominated for best actor in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. COE is hosting a Ma Rainey Watch Party on April 22nd, at 7:00 pm eastern time. It will start with brief remarks by Ms. Davis’ sister, Deloris Grant, followed by the movie itself. Those who want to share their thoughts and reactions to the film can join us afterwards for small group discussions. Drawings for giveaways will take place throughout.
