Can Talent Search deliver STEM curriculum without being subject matter experts? We never have the time, expertise or the money to do so! This summer, we challenged the narrative by reinventing our STEM initiative. This DYI STEM project led to teaching STEM subject matter experts how to deliver STEM Services to Talent Search scholars in 12 different rural schools. Join this session to hear how we blended a working team of TRIO and STEM experts to develop a COVID proof approach and engaging curriculum in the form of a 5-day virtual STEM Academy. This session will cover an abundance of topics in meeting format to increase dialog amongst our peers. Such topics will include recruiting students, hiring curriculum staff, training, delivery, documentation, reflections, flexible budgeting, supply order assembly lines at home, food delivery schedules, hot spot mishaps, and the reality of my future as an UBER driver!
