2021 Indicators Virtual Release Event

When:  May 19, 2021 from 14:30 to 16:00 (ET)
In conjunction with the release of the Indicators of Higher Education Equity in the United States: 2021 Historical Trend Report, please join the Pell Institute for the Study of Opportunity in Higher Education of COE and the Alliance for Higher Education and Democracy at the University of Pennsylvania for a virtual shared solutions stakeholder dialogue. Before the pandemic, the statistics we track in the Indicators report showed systemic inequality at every step of the college journey for low-income and first-generation students. These long-standing inequalities were further unmasked and made more challenging by the COVID-19 pandemic. As we ponder about a post COVID world, let us vow to not consider returning to the status quo of an unsustainable and unjust higher education system. Rather, let us join in the hard work needed for the “Reconstruction for a Diverse, Resilient, Equitable, and Ecologically Sustainable Higher Education Eco-System.” For 2021, we will have a focused look at the policies and practices needed to address the special challenges of non-traditional students, either deciding to enter or re-enter postsecondary, or once enrolled figuring out how to persist to graduation. We cordially invite you to be a part of the hands and feet needed to rebuild a more equitable higher education system for all on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 2:30pm EST.
